November 5 -7 | tcworld conference 2024

From 5 to 7 November, Europe’s largest conference for technical communication will once again take place in Stuttgart – from AI and terminology to law, standardization and UX. The tcworld conference brings together cross-industry participants, speakers, students and exhibitors in technical communication from all over the world.

We are excited to be exhibiting again this year. Visit us at our stand 2F22 – the PANTOPIX team is looking forward to talking to you. We would be happy to shape the digital future of your company with you, talk to us about how we can get the full potential out of your data together. We will take you to the next level and offer intelligent solutions for technical communication – from A to Z.

We are very much looking forward to this year’s panel discussion on the evolution of knowledge together with members of the Component Content Alliance. Karsten Schrempp will be moderating the discussion with Ulrike Parson, Klaus Fleischmann, Helmut Nagy and Harald Stadlbauer on intelligent content creation in the age of humans and AI.
We also have some exciting presentations planned – and for the first time, we will be sponsoring a presentation at the Technology Days.

We look forward to welcoming you to our stand at the annual conference soon. We can also already reveal that there will be exciting news at PANTOPIX – find out more at our stand! Secure your Early Bird ticket for the tekom annual conference by 14 October.

Component Content Alliance Panel | The Evolution of Knowledge: Intelligent Content Creation in the Age of Humans and AI
05.11.2024 | 5.30 – 6.15 pm
Ulrike Parson, Klaus Fleischmann, Helmut Nagy, Harald Stadlbauer und Karsten Schrempp

In an era where intelligent content is increasingly shaped by artificial intelligence, humans are at the center of an evolving cycle as creative drivers. The goal is to deliver customized content with semantic depth that precisely addresses users’ needs. This process is initiated by human authors and supported by generative AI, with human expertise flowing in where AI reaches its limits. Continuous user feedback creates a self-improving cycle that leads to ever higher quality content. In the panel, we would like to discuss the dynamics of this “knowledge in a cycle”. From the shifting paradigms of content creation to the synergy between AI and human creativity, we will explore fundamental principles, strategies and ethical considerations that are shaping the future of intelligent content creation. Join us as we uncover the secrets behind intelligent content creation and provide real-world insights from leading industry experts.

All panel members are part of the Component Content Alliance, a global community that brings together content experts, thought leaders and technical professionals to collaborate, share insights and drive innovation in component content development.

Everything in view! With the maturity model for content strategy
06.11.2024 | 11.30 – 12.15 a.m.
Prof. Dr. Martin Ley

We (almost) all want to provide technical information intelligently. But where and how do we actually start? With the purchase of a content delivery portal (CDP)? Or with the selection of a suitable component content management system (CCMS)? Or do one or two requirements need to be created on the process side before we can even think about the intelligent provision of information? Based on a holistic approach, we describe the path to a comprehensive content strategy. We show that the editorial process, CCMS and CPD must be considered together and that any isolated approach falls short. It makes no difference whether you are already thinking about introducing a CDP today and/or are still delivering documents. A long-term, successful content strategy starts today with the right measures. Setting the wrong course, on the other hand, can have far-reaching consequences tomorrow!

Product ontologies as backbone for GenAI
07.11.2024 | 10.00 – 11.45 a.m.
Maximilian Gärber and Prof. Dr. Martin Ley

Product ontologies without GenAI are frozen – GenAI without product ontologies is blind! In this talk, we will explain our approach where a set of product ontologies forms the backbone for LLM-based chats. Considering that LLM-based chats are error-prone in 3 out of 10 cases, we have developed several product ontologies as the core of our knowledge graph, extending the iiRDS ontology for technical information. By representing product portfolios, products and/or product variants and product features, a knowledge graph provides context for LLM-based chats and enables powerful, reliable applications such as product or service recommendations.

On the trail of truth: Can knowledge graphs make generative AI reliable?
07.11.2024 | 15.00-15.45 pm
Karsten Schrempp and Jonathan Schrempp

Gardner attests: The hype surrounding generative AI continues. Knowledge graphs, on the other hand, are sinking into the valley of tears. So do we leave the field to ChatGPT & Co. despite their obvious weaknesses in terms of accuracy, reliability and data security? Or is there still hope for fact-based, reliable and useful statements? We are convinced of the latter – through the combination of language models on the one hand and knowledge graphs on the other. Would you like to know how this works in practice? In our presentation, we will show you how it works using a concrete example.

Technology Days

Generative AI driven by Knowledge Graphs for technical documentation questions answering
29.11.2024
Dr. Amir Laadhar and Nikhil Acharya

At the technology days, you can expect a varied programme on the topic: Has the AI revolution already reached technical communication? The latest trends in the industry will be presented, as well as valuable strategies and practical tips that you can implement directly in your day-to-day work.

Lecture: In the technical documentation domain, the challenge lies not only in managing diverse data but also in making it contextually relevant to business needs. Traditional content management systems often fall short due to their inability to provide meaningful contextual knowledge about related information within the same company. Technical documentation enhanced with knowledge graphs significantly improves decision-making. A knowledge graph-based product information management system can integrate all data sources as a single source of truth. The knowledge graph uses ontologies to structure and interpret data from various sources, including internal and external technical documentation. Business use cases, such as comparing the technical efficiency of internal products with that of competitor products, demonstrate the practical benefits. Integrating generative large language models with knowledge graphs allows for more accurate natural language question answering of business questions.
