easychat: AI chat assistant from PANTOPIX impresses in live operation

The cooperation between gds and PANTOPIX, which was intensified in April 2025, is bearing fruit: both companies are proud to announce that the content delivery portal easybrowse has now been enhanced with easychat, an AI-based assistance function.
easychat enables dialog-oriented access to complex product knowledge. Users receive precise, context-related answers in natural language and within seconds based on the content from easybrowse.
The technical basis for easychat is the chatAssist app developed as part of the PANTOPIX SPHERE knowledge platform. Designed to be LLM-agnostic from the outset, the AI chat is independent of individual language model providers. This means that the solution remains flexible and can be combined with various AI technologies depending on customer requirements, data protection guidelines or deployment scenarios.
Data sovereign and secure: knowledge stays with the customer
Data protection and compliance are sensitive issues when using AI technology. easychat’s proof of concept was successfully connected with the European provider Mistral AI, which is regarded as a secure AI alternative from Europe. In addition to meeting high data security requirements, this also confirms the performance and integration strength of the approach.
In addition, easychat was developed in such a way that all sensitive information remains within the company. If required, the AI generates enriched embeddings directly in the customer’s system environment. Embeddings are intelligent data representations that capture knowledge semantically and make it available for the chat. This allows easychat to access up-to-date information flexibly and securely without content leaving the customer’s system.
Access rights are maintained
Another central component is the content-related authorization. easychat only knows the content that the respective user is allowed to see in CDP easybrowse. In this way, existing role and rights concepts are consistently adhered to and information security is guaranteed at all levels.

After an intensive development and test phase, the new AI-supported chat service is now fully implemented and will soon be used by the first easybrowse customers. And I can say: just in time. We are very much looking forward to presenting easychat together with gds at the upcoming tekom annual conference. This project impressively demonstrates what drives us at PANTOPIX: To network knowledge intelligently in order to create real value from it.
