Metadata was yesterday? Not at all. Despite the hype surrounding ChatGPT, machine learning, knowledge graphs and the like, metadata is by no means obsolete. With metadata, we are laying the foundations today for the applications of tomorrow – be it in a component content management system or for a content delivery portal. But what exactly is metadata? What do the first basic steps of metadata modeling look like? And what can go wrong? We will explore the world of metadata using concrete examples: What different metadata classes are there? What values can they have? What are the do’s and don’ts of metadata modeling?
