Experts, users and exhibitors will once again meet at the tekom Spring Conference in Freiburg from April 11 to 12 to discuss trends and current topics in the field of technical communication.
Participants will learn a lot about the latest news on the topic of “The future of the technical writer” in specialist presentations, tutorials and workshops. The focus will continue to be on topics such as “User Experience” and “Intelligent Information”. Various companies will once again be presenting themselves at the marketplace in the foyer in Freiburg. Of course, there will also be plenty of room for personal discussions at this spring conference.
Last year, we took part with a presentation in Würzburg. We are very pleased to be able to contribute to the event again this year with a presentation. Karsten Schrempp, founder and managing director of PANTOPIX, is looking forward to talking about the advantages of DITA in technical writing.

DITA in the spotlight – How technical documentation becomes more efficient

DITA has been a standard for almost 20 years now. Thousands of authors around the world create and publish content for technical documentation with DITA. Unfortunately, there are still reservations and fears about working with DITA. But there are good experiences!
In this presentation, we will pave the way for a new, topic-oriented approach to technical information. Based on many years of experience and a large number of customer projects, we will:
- demonstrate the advantages of using DITA
- introduce the concept of topic-oriented writing
- illustrate how the complexity of DITA can be reduced and how authors can best be supported
- talk about DITA-based publications
- show how to deal with legacy data
- Identify known pitfalls when introducing DITA or a DITA-based CCMS and explain how to avoid them
