Together for climate protection: PANTOPIX plants 145 young trees
We have been working with CarboCert GmbH for five years to make an active contribution to climate protection through certified CO₂ sequestration in soils, forests and agroforestry systems. CarboCert supports agricultural businesses and companies in reducing CO₂ emissions in a targeted manner. The company focuses on three key measures: Humus build-up for long-term CO₂ binding in the soil, afforestation for carbon storage in trees and soils, and agroforestry, which combines agriculture and forestry.
The partnership with CarboCert enables us to support regional sustainability initiatives, show responsibility for our environment and minimise our ecological footprint in the long term. Every year, we support a climate protection project with EUR 5,000 to actively contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gases.
This year, we wanted to step up our commitment and not only provided financial support, but also actively participated. In mid-March, we swapped our laptops for shovels and together we planted 145 young trees along the Schwarzach and the Mühlekanal near Bodnegg. Alder trees, willows and peacocks now line the banks and will hopefully contribute to carbon storage in the coming years. The planting also plays an important role in the water cycle and biodiversity. A healthy root network improves water infiltration, increases soil stability and ensures natural water management.
We would like to thank all our hard-working colleagues from PANTOPIX, the team from CarboCert, who also gave us their full support, and the farmer Reinhold Baumann, who made this campaign possible.
