Julite Joy started her career in India, where she gained valuable hands-on experience in software testing and quality assurance, performing both manual and automated testing. Driven by her passion for technology and continuous learning, she later moved to Germany to take on a new professional challenge – joining PANTOPIX.
What began as a position focusing on quality assurance soon evolved into an opportunity to progress as a junior developer, allowing Julite to combine her in-depth knowledge of testing with new skills in back-end development. Today, she works in both testing and development, ensuring that every product delivered meets the highest quality standards while continuing to develop her technical expertise.
We asked Julite a few questions about her role and tasks as a QA engineer at PANTOPIX.
Have you always been interested in this profession?
Yes, I’ve always been passionate about technology and problem solving. I enjoy understanding how systems work, identifying gaps and finding ways to improve them – which naturally led me to testing and developing software.
My career has allowed me to experience both sides of software development: quality assurance as a QA engineer and contributing to functionality as a junior developer. I find it incredibly rewarding to develop and test solutions that really make a difference for users.
What is a QA engineer?
What are your main tasks as a QA engineer at PANTOPIX?
My main tasks at PANTOPIX include
- Design and implementation of manual and automated test cases
- Checking the translations and the consistency of the user interface in several languages
- Carrying out regression tests before release to ensure stability
- Work closely with developers to efficiently identify and resolve issues
- Participation in backend programming and improvement of test automation coverage
This combination of testing and development gives me a broader overview of our products and helps to improve both their quality and their performance.
Who do you work closely with?
I work closely with developers, product owners and project managers. Communication plays an important role in quality assurance – we continuously exchange feedback, report problems and ensure that all requirements are clearly understood and fulfilled.
Cross-team collaboration ensures transparency and helps to ensure that the product continues to develop with consistent quality.
What are the biggest challenges for a QA engineer?
One of the biggest challenges is balancing speed and quality. Projects often run to tight schedules, so comprehensive testing without delays in release can only be ensured through strict prioritization and effective automation.
Another challenge is keeping up with new tools, frameworks and technologies – QA is a rapidly evolving field and continuous learning is essential to stay up to date.
How do you ensure that a product meets the highest quality standards?
My approach combines manual and automated tests. First, I try to understand the users’ requirements, create detailed test scenarios and carry out the tests step by step.
For recurring or time-intensive processes, I develop automated scripts to increase efficiency and reduce human error. I also value continuous feedback and collaboration – I work closely with the developers to identify and fix issues early to ensure we deliver the best possible product.
What role do automated tests play in your daily work?
Automated testing plays a critical role in ensuring reliability and efficiency during regression cycles. I use automation to validate critical functionality across releases and environments to ensure consistency and reliability with each deployment.
Automation not only saves time and reduces repetitive manual work steps, but also ensures that new code is seamlessly integrated without affecting existing functions.
